So it’s safer to say that cats can perceive parts of the green-to-yellow range but don’t divide red, green and neighboring shades the way humans do.
Can Cats See Yellow?
Cats appear able to distinguish yellowish colors from blue, although their experience of yellow is unlikely to match ours exactly.
Blue and yellow are therefore commonly used as practical examples of colors that are easier for cats to separate.

If your cat ignores a bright red toy sitting still but immediately pounces when you move it, color probably isn’t the deciding factor.
